Abstract

Many students don’t spend their spare time to study effectively and efficiently. About 75% students, especially the students of VIII year of SMP Negeri 6 Madiun spend their spare time a little. Therefore, it’s needed to solve it through guiding learning by experiment (research) to know the influence of guiding learning forward spare time by comparing between the result before and after giving guidance. The population of research is 245 and the sampling is 40 students by random sampling. The research design uses experiment. The collecting data uses questionnaire. The analyze uses t-test. The result of research is found t-counting 0,451 < 2,022 (t-table) at standard significant 5%, it means there are not differences significantly in using spare time between before and after giving guidance. The conclusion is guidance learning doesn’t influence significantly forward spending spare time at students of SMP Negeri 6 Madiun. It may be the students are conditioned well at school, they are given many task regularly, so the students spend their spare time only to do their tasks.
